International Symposium on Innovative Materials for Energy and Environment IMEE-2024, sponsored by SPARC and organized by IUCND, CUSAT, will be a 3-day event exploring the advancements in materials science related to energy and environmental applications. This event will bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, and industry professionals, showcasing talks by eminent global experts to inspire collaboration and spark innovation.

This symposium, integral to the SPARC-funded project “LIFE - Leveraging Integrated Systems for Future Energy,” promises to unveil cutting-edge research and innovative materials that hold transformative potential across 6 critical subthemes. The principal investigators of the SPARC project at IUCND, CUSAT, and Flinders University in Australia serve as the symposium chairs. The SPARC collaborators at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, and St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam serve as the symposium co-chairs.

About CUSAT and IUCND

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), originally established as the University of Cochin in 1971, was reconstituted in 1986 with a focus on advanced studies and research in applied sciences, technology, industry, and social sciences. CUSAT is recognized in the QS World University Rankings and India's NIRF. Inter University Centre for Nanomaterials and Devices (IUCND) at CUSAT is an inter-university research centre formed by the Government of Kerala, providing state-of-the-art infrastructure to support research and development in the domain of Nanotechnology and also enable collaborative research initiatives involving academia and industry. The Centre has identified thrust research areas such as optoelectronics, energy, communications, environment, and medicine where nanomaterials and nanotechnology can make pronounced impact.
